as objects they're great. as works of art - interesting. I thought it was the domain of sociolgy (the precise science of being imprecise)to explain stuff like this? Perhaps I'm wrong perhaps art is just a series of snapshots of something that is always changing? Perhaps we should all draw our own different moustaches on prints of the Mona Lisa? (Note to self... download image of Mona Lisa in order to draw moustache on it tommorrow) perhaps art, dissemination, thory, practice etc is all HIGHLY personal and we should all just wind our necks in when we talk or write about art, practice, knowledge, theory, dissemination, creativity and be prepared to accept the "opinions" deductions, understandings of others? Your work is great you believe in it... great, I don't need to know why you are doing it. It speaks for itself.
Simon, thank you for you comments which are exactly the kind of responses i have been seeking, do you not feel that any form of Art is a snapshot! a time, a place, a memory or response how ever it is created, surely it our role as artists to make aware to others the many diverse and possibilities art can be? Once again thankyou for taking your time to reply.....keep it going
the composition is great, and the frame is full of different elements and creativity, this almost looks like a sketchbook page or diary insert. Even the writing style is not typical, it looks like a script typeface which is interesting for writing on a wall/door. The graffiti-esque quality makes the image for me.
adam, its fascinating the layers, the palimpsest. For me they act as small secret stories, moments in time when some one decided to write something, sometimes refering to their life, or what is ever going on in the world. Graffiti is a secret, anonymous voice that states someone was there..then, they existed and left their mark
Whats wrong with you all? do you have no comments??
